For those of you searching for a decent 4th of July celebration in the area, this may be the perfect article for you.
To start, Hayward will be hosting its own 4th of July celebration at Meek Park at 11:00 a.m.
The park is located at 17365 Boston Road and will be hosted by the Hayward Area Historical Society.
Families are welcome to bring their own family picnics, but there will also be hot dogs and sodas on sale at the park.
There will also be guided tours of the famous Meek Mansion available for $5 per person. This mansion was home to William Meek, an agricultural pioneer of the Bay Area.
If you are looking for something a little more elegant, there will be a 4th of July cruise in Jack London Square in Oakland. The cruise will take place at Presidential Yacht Potomac and is from 7:30-10:30.
This will be a night of fine dining, decadent desserts and champagne. The night will end with an explosive fireworks show, all while cruising the San Francisco Bay.
If you have the whole day available, then the 4th of July celebration at the Berkeley marina would be the perfect place to be. The event is from noon to 9:30 pm and it is completely free.
From 11 am-8 pm, the kids can enjoy themselves at the kids adventure play area, equipped with slides, beaches and face painting.
There will be live entertainment from noon until 9:30p.m., which includes live bands, jugglers and magicians.
Of course, the grand finale will be the fireworks show, which will take place over the Berkeley Pier- just note that there will be no cars admitted after 7 p.m
Lastly, from noon to 9:30 p.m., a plethora of live entertainment and activities will liven up Pier 39.
Then as soon as the sun goes down, the crowd will enjoy one of the biggest fireworks shows in the Bay Area.
