Sabrina Rodriguez, a California State University, East Bay alumna, was recently charged with grand theft, burglary and conspiracy according to KTXL news. She was a Sacramento area news anchor for FOX 40 until yesterday when she resigned.

Sabrina Rodriguez graduated from CSUEB in 2005 with a BA in Mass Communication and was awarded by the university a Distinguished Young Alumna Award in 2011.

In 2013, Rodriguez and fiancée Nicholas Gray drove in to San Francisco to shoplift, according to charges.

Also in 2013, a text from Gray to Rodriguez read, “I got eight $350 cashmere sweaters plus skirt. I got rent.”

The couple targeted stores like BCBG and reportedly used ‘faraway bags’ to elude loss prevention sensors.

Rodriguez is now out on bail after surrendering to authorities. On Aug. 5, Rodriguez informed her followers and friends through Facebook that she has resigned from her news anchor job.
