Crab Shak Grabs Customers

Open seven days a week, Art’s Crab Shak gives diners the unique option of picking out your own crab.

“I loved the idea of picking out my own crab, said  customer Trinia Morris. “It had plenty of meat and all cut perfectly. I loved the lemon pepper flavoring and the fact they give you a great amount of garlic bread to go with it. I would recommend the crab to anyone going that is the top menu choice.”

The restaurant has a romantic atmosphere at night with a great view of the city.

“My boyfriend brought me for a special dinner and I felt absolutely special with the great view from our table and the even better food; I loved the crab cakes,” said Kimberley Jones.

Art’s Crab Shak currently has two locations, one in Hayward and the on Broadway Street in Oakland. Both locations are easily accessible by both bus and Bart.

The Oakland location was established in 1988, as a very small seafood establishment with only eight to 10 staff members. The Hayward restaurant opened soon after.

“We have been in the community for over a decade and our customers know that we are the best when it comes to great seafood,” said Oakland employee Iesha Wood.

This great dining venue is also equipped with a fully stocked bar for those who wish to have a cocktail or beer before feasting.

A private parking lot is also at the Hayward location for the hectic parking in the downtown area.

Art’s menu has a range of prices, with a regular bucket of garlic crab for one person at $25.95 and at $40.25 for two. As all portions are big in size, two could easily share that portion adding on sides to make a complete meal.

The seafood available is in a great variety such as red snapper, sole, giant prawns, catfish, scallops and more.

Many guests say the fact that this business has endured many years in the community shows its quality in cuisine and service.
