California State University, East Bay’s current Director of Bands Danielle Gaudry teamed with her predecessor Timothy Smith in an Instrumental Music Program concert Tuesday night to combine the CSU East Bay Wind Symphony and the Faculty-Alumni Wind Orchestra in a special presentation of three mini concerts in the University Theater.

Conducted by Gaudry, the CSUEB Wind Symphony performed Edward Gregson’s “Festivo,” John Krance’s arrangement of Joaquin Turina’s “Five Miniatures,” Nancy Galbraith’s “with brightness round about it,” and J. Clifton Williams’ Symphonic Dance No. 3 “Fiesta.”

After a brief intermission, the Faculty-Alumni Wind Orchestra, conducted by special guest Smith, performed CSUEB Music Alumnus Robert Litton’s composition “One for All,” Frank Ticheli’s rendition of “Amazing Grace,” Mayhew Lake’s arrangement of Julius Fucik’s “Florentiner March,” and Brant Karrick’s “J.S. Jig.”

Nearly 90 musicians gathered on the theater stage for the third installment of the concert: a combined ensemble of current students, faculty and alumni.
