Both California State University, East Bay’s men’s and women’s basketball teams made the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) playoffs in the 2018-19 season. The Women’s basketball team finished the season 14-16, qualifying for their eighth consecutive playoff appearance. They defeated Humboldt State in the opening round of the playoffs, before falling to Cal Poly Pomona in the semifinals. The men’s team won 20 games for the first time since 1999, defeating California State University, Dominquez Hills in the opening round in Hayward on March 5. The Pioneers were then defeated by UC San Diego in the semifinals.
