Three Tips to Avoid Marketing Scams on Craigslist

1) Look for Specifics

Fake companies never post any specific information. On their Craigslist post and or their websites (if they have one), scammers will use vague and passive language such as “Through our marketing services we’ve developed campaigns that have real world value for the customer.” What does that mean? If you are left with more questions than answers, you might have found a scam.

2) If it Looks Too Good to be True, it Probably is

Bogus job posts may seem perfect but they’re usually not. If the job offers a chance to make lots of money, and you receive an interview very quickly, and you can’t believe it’s happening, then it is probably a scam.

3) Similar Posts

If you think you have seen the same post (or very similar posts) numerous times throughout your job search, you probably have. Fake companies will re-post the same thing and just create different names. Similar posts often signal scams.
