The King Tut of All Fremont Cafes

Located in the quirky Niles District of Fremont is a gourmet sandwich shop with exciting flavor combinations, quality service and, most importantly, some of the best sandwiches the East Bay has to offer. The Nile Cafe may seem like another standard lunch spot, but nowhere else can you eat this good for so little.

The Nile Cafe stands apart from all the other restaurants and shops off of Niles Boulevard for several reasons. You won’t see a Charlie Chaplin silhouette in here—the Egyptian theme is unique and refreshing compared to the silent movie motif that is displayed on every other storefront.

The Nile Cafe is truly eclectic—no tables and chairs are the same, and the huge Egyptian mural adds a bright and colorful focal point for the long, narrow restaurant. Hand-painted chairs and mosaic tables give this place more character than your standard sandwich chain.

The food at the Nile Cafe is perfect for those searching for delicious, homemade food for a great price. The sandwiches, salads, soups and breakfast are consistently unique, inexpensive and beyond satisfying. Although the sandwiches are on the smaller side, they are all made with fresh, high quality ingredients and cost less than $6.

A favorite sandwich at the Nile Cafe is the Pear and Fontina, which has grilled pears, fresh Fontina cheese and sauteed onions. Other popular sandwich choices include the Bacon and Brie, Turkey Apple Cheddar and Lemon Basil Chicken.

The Nile Cafe also offers a different homemade soup every day of the week. Customer favorites include ham and lentil, chicken noodle and lemon chicken, which is loaded with fresh chicken, Italian parsley, farfalle pasta and fresh avocado. Customers can enjoy a cup of soup and any half sandwich for under $8.

Aside from food, The Nile Cafe has several beverage options other than your standard soda. Italian soda, Vietnamese coffee and sparkling lemonade are also available.

With an eccentric, fun atmosphere, fast and friendly service, and sandwiches that will have you hooked after just one bite, The Nile Cafe has everything a local lunch spot could ever need.
