Sex Shops Don’t Belong in Newspapers

Dear Editor,

Recently I was walking on the CSUEB campus on a warm summer evening before sunset.I was enjoying my walk near Warren Hall, and then went to the plaza above the library for a gorgeous view of the Bay.
Being on the campus brought back fond memories of my time here as a grad student in 2007. I picked up a copy of the Pioneer in Warren Hall, hoping to be informed or inspired by the articles. Instead I was highly disappointed to see an article on L’Amour Shoppe, which apparently caters to all forms of sexual perversions. The fact that such stores exist reflects poorly on our society.
The gratification factor in all realms of our culture is on overload in recen times.
The fact that this college newspaper is promoting such an establishment is disgusting! Does the President of CSUEB read the Pioneer?
I would hope that CSUEB would promote and encourage morality, which serves to uplift our society, rather than promote(and take revenue from) establishments that
encourage moral decay.

Sincerely,
Kathy Redmond
CSUEB Alumna
