Tam Duong Jr.

Photo and Visual Editor

Tam Duong Jr. is an Ohlone College junior transfer with an Associate of Arts in Graphic Arts/Computer Graphics, and his love affair with all things visual within publications was completely by happenstance, taking the (much needed) opportunity to provide both graphic design and photography for his then second home Ohlone College in Fremont.

When he isn’t providing visuals for The Pioneer, you can find him watching boxing, football and spending time with family and friends.

Tam plans on graduating with a Bachelors of Art in Electronic Art with an emphasis in Graphic Design.

Pavel Radostev Pushina

Spanish Editor

My name is Pavel and I am an international student coming from Barcelona, Spain. I am a sophomore student pursuing a degree in Business Administration. I speak Spanish, English, Catalan, Russian, and a bit of German. I find the Spanish editor position to be very interesting for me. Since young I always spoke more than one language, and I noticed it was hard for some people to communicate if they didn’t know a common language. That’s where I would come into play and save the day, by translating back and forth what they wanted to communicate to each other. Today I can do the same, but reach to an even greater community, my community, the Spanish community. Translating for the Pioneer’s Newspaper has been by far the most interesting job I have had so far.

Wendy Medina

Copy Editor

Copy Editor at the Pioneer, Wendy Medina is a junior at East Bay majoring in English, with a focus in Creative Writing. Dipping her toes into journalism, she enjoys the bustling atmosphere of being part of a publication, as she was first introduced by being Design Editor at CSUEB’s very own literary magazine Occam’s Razor.

A SoCal native, she fell in love with the culture, music, and art scene of the Bay Area and hopes to live here for many years to come. When she isn’t neck-deep writing essays for her English classes—usually about serial killers—her passions include going to shows, museums, wandering around SF, and spending hours digging for treasures in the discount bins at record stores.
