Sonoma County officials will host a live Virtual Town Hall about the novel coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, on radio, television and online Wednesday night.
“We are making information accessible to people who may not want to go out to large social gatherings right now due to concerns of coronavirus spread,” Board of Supervisors Chair Susan Gorin said.
Chris Godley, director of Sonoma County Emergency Management, and Interim Health Officer Dr.Sundari Mase will join Gorin in presenting information and answering questions from 7 to 8 p.m.
“Bringing a town hall right to the radio, TV and computers of our residents is a great way to share important information while keeping out most vulnerable neighbors safe,” Gorin said.
The presentation will air on 91.1 and 90.9 FM radio, KRCB Channel 22 and KPJK Channel 60. It will be recorded and posted online with closed captioning and Spanish subtitles following the broadcast.
The program will livestream on NorCalPublicMedia.org and KRCB’s Facebook page. Community members can submit questions before the broadcast by emailing viewer(at)norcalpublicmedia.org.

Godley, Mase and Barbie Robinson, Health and Human Services director, said that as of late Tuesday afternoon, there are three confirmed cases of the virus in the county. As of Monday, 29 people have been tested and 60 more will be tested at the county’s Public Health lab in Santa Rosa.
The county is considering a proposal to ban mass gatherings for people age 60 and over who are at higher risk of contracting the virus.
There are no confirmed cases of the virus in school students, Robinson said.
