Public asked to fill out survey on sea level

Hayward residents can provide input on how their local government
should respond to the threat of sea level rise by filling out an online survey available through the end of the month.
The survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/PF2TG7S is being conducted by the Hayward Area Shoreline Planning Agency, a joint powers agency made up of the city of Hayward, the East Bay Regional Park District and the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District.
The shoreline in Hayward that is vulnerable to flooding includes wastewater treatment plants, the eastern end of the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge, and residential, commercial and recreational areas, according to the city.
The joint powers agency is developing a master plan that will take the input from people who fill out the survey. Several community workshops and other events will be held as the plan moves forward, city officials said.
