Kali Persall is the Managing Editor at The Pioneer and a junior at East Bay, majoring in Communications with an emphasis on media production. Kali was raised in a small coastal community in Northern California and after high school, briefly attended Southern Oregon University in Ashland, OR. Kali joined SOU’s newspaper The Siskiyou as a freshman and contributed over 40 stories during the course of her enrollment, discovering her affinity for journalism.

Soul-searching led Kali to the bay area, where she has always aspired to live, and East Bay, where she had never previously heard of. She currently resides in Benicia, where she shamelessly hoards books and writes incessantly about the world around her. Her favorite things about writing are connecting with people and being the first to witness the magical moment when a story unfolds.
