The Oakland Athletics are set to host the team’s second annual “Cal State East Bay night,” with special promotional tickets available for current CSUEB students and alumni.
The Athletics announced Cal State East Bay night will take place at the Oakland Coliseum on Sept. 3, when the A’s host the Los Angeles Angels. Students and alumni who purchase special tickets will be given a special promotional item.
The A’s held their first annual Cal State East Bay night during the 2018 season, and the special ticket came with an A’s-branded CSUEB baseball hat. This year, the special ticket to the game comes with an A’s-branded crew neck sweatshirt with CSUEB branding and accents.
The sweatshirt will be grey and feature the text “College Night” at the top of the sweatshirt, wrapped around an A’s logo in the middle of it. Below the A’s logo will read “Cal State East Bay,” written on a red background. Lastly, “2019” will be scrawled at the bottom of the sweatshirt.
The event is part of the Athletics’ “College Night” series of promotions featuring Bay Area universities. The other universities featured at various times this season include UC Berkeley, Stanford, UC Davis and St. Mary’s.
The special promotional tickets, required to receive the sweatshirt, are on sale now. Promotional ticket prices will start at $24 for one Plaza Level seat. Ticket prices range up to $42 for a promotional ticket sold by the A’s.
For the $42 ticket, fans will get access to the MVP box at the Oakland Coliseum, which are considered some of the best seats in the stadium. The MVP box offers seats in the Coliseum’s lower bowl, close to the infield. There are currently tickets on sale near both the first base and third base dugouts.
As an added bonus, Sept. 3 will be a Tuesday which qualifies for the Athletics’ “free parking Tuesdays” promotion. Regularly, parking at the Coliseum for an A’s game costs $20 per car.
