Oakland Art and Soul Festival
Covered in the story by Brianna Leahy, the festival was full of activities and entertainment. Crowds were gathered around stages with music and acrobatics while the hungry gathered around grills and food tents. Lasting two days, the event had multiple streets blocked off in Downtown Oakland.
The Oaktown Throwdown BBQ Competition allowed spectators to sample recipes from all over California. The grill teams competed for votes using a ticket system.
