Thousands of people flocked to San Francisco on Sunday June 30 to celebrate the end of pride month. The parade started at 10:30am with about 280 participants marching from the Embarcadero to City Hall. This year’s theme focused on the generations of resistance by the LGBT community since the 1969 Stonewall riots. House of Representatives speaker Nancy Pelosi, Democratic Presidential Candidate Sen. Kamala Harris and California Governor Gavin Newsom made appearances at the event. The parade was not without controversy though as protesters felt it has become too commercialized.
