Students are Too Often Used By California Faculty

After reading one of your recent articles, “Student Protests Should Be Student Run,” I wanted to commend you on a much needed, well-written article. As a student at Sacramento State, and Student Trustee of the CSU system, I have seen far too often students being used for the CFA agenda. While sometimes students and faculty interests align, many times the protests are directed at the wrong targets (the Trustees and administration instead of the legislature and broader public).

I have been a Trustee for roughly a year and a half and this has been the first time that a student journalist’s article has received circulation amongst the Trustees, administration and general CSU community. Your article has received very positive feedback and I thought you should know how impressed and relieved the Trustees were to know that some students saw through the rallies earlier this month for what they really were.

Thank you for your work as the Campus Editor at the Pioneer and I’m sure you have a great path ahead of you after graduation.
