It’s New Year Eve, and the final day of 2014 deserves to go out with a BANG! For those of you, like myself, whom wait till the last minute to make plans, here are some activities around the East Bay to help you end the year right.

  1. Balloon Drop-Oakland
    Chabot Space and Science Center invites children to participate in the many countdowns for new years around the globe. Once the count hits zero in a different country, hundreds of colorful balloons are dropped and children jump to grab as many as they can. They have three time slots in two locations throughout the day for children off all ages to join in. Price: General Admission + 5 for balloon drop per child.

  2. International Ball-Palace Hotel
    4 Multi- cultured themed rooms, and over 10 DJ’s join in on the 100 year celebration hosted at the PALACE Hotel. Tickets include a Salsa Class, patry favors and a balloon drop. The Ball even comes with a premium bar with quality liquor such as Belvedere, Johnny Walker Black, and even Henessy.
    Price: $85 a person. 


  3. PREMIERE-SF City Hall
    Complimentary H’ordourves, 3 different stages, and a champagne toast all in the heart of San Fransisco for the Premiere event. There’s even an open bar ticket for a few hours into the event before the Premium Bar opens.

  4. PG New Years-San Ramon
    The Professionals Guild is hosting an 80’s music filled, casino style new years party at the San Ramon Marriot. This night includes a sit down dinner a long with dancing, champagne toast, and breakfast the following morning.

  5. POP NYE-Oakland
    With headliners Above and Beyond, this 21+ is the experience for rave fans that want to start the New Year right. Featuring a 360-degree laser show, speakers that vibrate the arena, who knows where your color will take you.

  6. Prince and Michael Jackson Experience-Berkeley
    End 2014 with a tribute dedicated to two icons that helped revolutionize pop music. Watch as guests battle in a dance off dressed as either the King of Pop or the Purple One at the Berkeley Underground.

  7. Bijou Restaurant New Years Special-Hayward
    Enjoy a 4 course meal with champagne at Haywards local French/California cuisine restaurant. Their dining room even has a bar where you can enjoy some of their creative cocktails.

  8. Circue Du Saddle Rack– Fremont
    Its a country rock showdown at the Saddle Rack. Tickets include their annual balloon drop, party favors, and a music by Diablo Road. The venue contains 7 bars, a Beer Tub, and their famous Margarita Chair.
