Remembering Adam Pye, a bright young man gone too soon

It was a beautiful day in the Bay Area when 26-year-old Adam Pye went out to Francis State Beach in Half Moon Bay for some summer fun.

With the help of a few of his friends, Adam Pye dug an 8 to 10 feet deep hole in the sand. After attempting to dig a tunnel, the sand collapsed on top of him. Paramedics performed CPR for an hour but rescue attempts were unsuccessful and he was buried alive.

Adam Pye recently graduated from California State University, East Bay just a month ago in June, with a degree in Communication.

Those who knew Adam Pye speak of him being a caring, kind, outgoing, loud and all around good guy.

Adam Pye had a promising future ahead of him with plans to move to Southern California and attend graduate school. He was a hard worker. He was always busy with his job at UPS or his studies.

His mother told KTVU, “That was all he ever did was just school work and finally he graduated to say Mom, finally, now I have some time, I can rest,” said Debra Pye.

Friends and family of Adam Pye have created a Facebook page to honor his memory. From The Pioneer, we are sorry for your loss.
