This week, The Pioneer announces the close of the Candidate’s Corner…for now. We would like to thank all of the candidates running for the contested Hayward City Council seats and mayoral election for taking the time to go on the record and speak to our readers about what they hope to deliver to Hayward residents should they be elected in June.

However, the Candidate’s Corner shall not be gone for long. The Pioneer plans to return with the section very soon with the San Leandro City Council and mayoral race. Mayor Steven Cassidy is not seeking re-election, and City Council Districts 1, 3 and 5 are up for election.

The Pioneer does not choose to endorse any of the candidates; instead, we’ve made the decision to let the candidates lay out their vision to the voters. We encourage you to take a look at all of the candidate’s entries and make your own decision.

Make sure to head to the polls and vote June 3. Every vote counts.
