I would like to take this opportunity to express my growing admiration and respect for The Pioneer newspaper. I am a Hayward resident and CSUH alumnus from the class of 1985.
I have been reading your paper weekly since last summer. I am pleasantly surprised each week at the in-depth coverage of art and news in the East Bay and especially Hayward. Really, stories about Hayward politicians, non-profit groups and issues like domestic abuse, poverty and hunger in the city of Hayward are just what this city needs, and furthermore what we are missing from local publications.
I majored in English while at CSUH and I am very impressed with the quality level of writing from your stories. The photos are great, the coverage is great, and the paper truly looks great. I’m excited to read it each week and always glad to see my alma mater do so well.
Keep up the good work guys. I know you don’t get a lot of these e-mails, because I’ve read them. And I know how necessary it is to also hear how well you are doing. I’m glad I could relate that to you.
